Education and Training Working Group (E&TWG)
The Education and Training Working Group (E&TWG) was first set up by the RESMaG Council in the mid-2000s to ensure that rehabilitation engineering had a strong voice in the development and delivery of Modernising Scientific Careers (MSC). Notable achievements over the years include the development of theRESMAG competencies which became the foundation of the curriculum development for a number of MSC training programmes, its support and advisory role for the commissioning and development of key educational programmes such as BSc (Hons) Rehabilitation Engineering at Coventry University and its collaboration with the IPEM Workforce Intelligence Unit to highlight workforce pressures and the need for investment in rehabilitation engineering education and training.
Originally conceived as a time limited group, the E&TWG continues to advise the RESMaG Council on education and training strategy linking directly with stakeholders such as the National School of Healthcare Science and the Academy for Healthcare Science on behalf of the rehabilitation engineering profession.
