Our Structure

RESMAG was originally formed in 199X as a collection of individuals managing services that provided Rehabilitation Engineering Services. Originally known as the Rehabilitation Engineering Services Management Group.

Over the years it developed into an organisation that was inclusive to all Rehabilitation Engineers and others involved at all levels in the provision of services or part of a clinical team.

In order to give a more defined structure to the organisation and a legal framework, RESMAG registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with the charities commission in February 2021.

The organisation is legally managed by the trustees as defined in our Governing Document. We have an annual Annual General Meeting (AGM).

  • Wheelchair and Seating Special Interest Group (WSSIG)
  • Education and Training Group
  • Electronic Assistive Technology Interest Group
  • Regulations and Standard Interest Group

Each of these groups meet regularly and informally.

The RESMAG Council meets regularly with the objective to give an overall direction and steer to the organisation and address issues at hand. The RESMAG Council consists of the

  • RESMAG Chair
  • Trustees
  • Treasurer
  • Special Interest Group Chairs/leads

Representatives from other related organisations may attend or be invited to attend Council and special interest group meetings.

RESMAG has a small number of voluntary positions to assist with the running of the organisation:

  • Training Coordinator
  • Treasurer

We have close relationships with a number of related organisations with similar or related aims:
